Unique Kitchen Storage Solutions

A well-organized kitchen is a cook’s best friend. However, with all of the pantry staples, fresh ingredients, appliances, cooking tools, and serving ware, a frequently used kitchen can become a chaotic place! Consider the following tools to create new storage solutions that will serve you well.

LADDER
Create easy access to the tops of your cabinets by installing a beautiful sliding ladder.

BINS
Open shelving is a gorgeous trend, but can get messy in real life. Tidy them up with a grid of woven bins.

UNEXPECTED CABINETS
Add a row of cabinets above your kitchen window for extra storage. This often overlooked space can provide plenty of additional space.

HANGING MUGS
Instead of taking up precious cabinet space, display your favorite coffee mugs on hooks for easy access.

ÉTAGÈRE
Sit an étagère (a decorative, open shelving unit) on your countertop to add plenty of storage with a small footprint.

BASKETS
You can find pretty woven baskets at any home goods store. Use your favorite as a handy place to store your cutting boards. It’s trendy and saves precious cabinet space.

PANTRY
If you don’t have a closet pantry, you can install slide out cabinets. Your spices, flour and sugar will all be eye level.

ARMOIRE
Hunt down an antique armoire and use it in your kitchen as a unique display for your favorite serving pieces. Alternatively, you can turn the armoire into a bar. Arrange your glassware and liquor as you would on a bar cart.

CLOSED DOORS
If you’ve got a need for a huge pantry, consider hosting it behind double doors. Inside, store pantry staples in small, neat cardboard boxes.

CROCKERY DRAWERS
Pegs and pegboards inside crockery drawers make accessing your china a breeze. You’ll wonder why you’ve been standing on tip toes, hazardously lifting heavy, fragile china from your cabinets for so long.

CREATIVE CABINETS
Do you like the look of drawers more than traditional cabinets? Customize your cabinets with drawer pulls to combine the two looks.

SWIVEL STOOLS
Swivel stools save floor space in a tight kitchen. Install them underneath your island for hidden, yet easy to access seating.

CUTTING BOARD
To make clean up easy, design a pull-out cutting board to slide out on top of your trash can. Include a hole in the cutting board to easily brush scraps into the bin.

POCKET DOORS
Pocket doors can close off or open up the kitchen to the dining area, restricting access to the kitchen when you need privacy.

INTEGRATED BOWL
Integrate a bowl into your countertop to save eggs, lemons, and tomatoes from rolling onto the floor.

UPCYCLED BOXES
Use wooden or cardboard boxes to store tea and coffee. Spruce up the boxes with colorful wrapping paper.

SLATTED DOOR
Upcycle a slatted door to hang your most used kitchen supplies, such as pot holders, spatulas, colanders and dish rags. The door can take the place of a pegboard.

OFFICE ORGANIZERS
Trays that would normally be found in an office are a clever way to store cleaning supplies in your kitchen. Feel free to add a potted succulent for a touch of cheer.

CONTAINERS
An efficient container system can be powerful. Metal tins, plastic pitchers and even cardboard boxes all have their place in a well-organized pantry.

CLEANING CORNER
Keep all of your cleaning supplies on-hand to maintain your organized, sparkling kitchen.
